Ask. Search. Knock. Serve.

Jesus says,

"Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

These words describe the family of First Congregational Church of Saginaw.

Ours is a church of people who ask. Not only for God’s redemption, but for answers to life’s questions. We are people who wonder, who challenge, who question in a never-ending search to make our lives, our community and our world better.

Ours is a church of people who search. Not only for God’s love, but for knowledge, for insight, for the goodness in all people. We are people who look – into ourselves, our church, our world – for more.

Ours is a church of people who knock. Not only at the door of God’s kingdom, but at any door that bars justice, compassion or communication. We are people who believe that a mind, like a door, works best when it’s open.

And ours is a church of people who serve. Not only through prayer and worship, but by being God’s hands in service to all God’s people. We are people who believe we must not only hear Christ’s word, but live it.

If that’s the kind of person you are, you should be one of us.
